"Just had two additional key fobs cut and programmed. These were for a VW, so it took extra time and attention. Ricky spent that extra time and charged almost nothing extra for the additional time and effort. Had a nice chat with the owner who said he appreciated me waiting. It was well worth it! "I just experienced some "Old Fashioned" service that I haven't seen in a long time. I had a motorcycle trunk key that I needed duplicated, that Home Depot couldn't do nor any of a number of locksmiths in the area. The gentleman at Ace Hardware in Fairfax, was kind enough to suggest that I go to Arties Lock & Key. It was late and they were closed, and Ricky was leaving to go home. I told him I had been going all over the place trying to get this key copied, but he had closed the register and was locking the door. He was kind enough to reopen the store and try to find me a key. After searching through hundreds of blanks, he found what he thought might work. After cutting it we went out to the bike, to try it out. No dice, but he said he thought he could fix it. It took 4 times back and forth from the bike to the shop before it worked. At lease 1/2 hour. He then cut me a couple extras. I tried to leave him a cash tip, but he wouldn't accept it.
